Memorial Day

Memorial Day
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May (most recently observed May 29, 2006). It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it expanded to include those who died in any war or military action. One of the longest standing traditions is the running of the Indianapolis 500, which has been held in conjunction with Memorial Day since 1911.

Six Flags Offers Dreams and Nightmares

You know that dream where you feel like you're freefalling? Six lucky season pass holders and 100 of their friends will get to freefall on tower rides and roller coasters to their hearts' content as winners of Dream Nite at participating Six Flags parks. Here's the deal: Anyone who purchases and activates a 2007 Six Flags season pass between now and May 28 (Memorial Day), 2007 will automatically be entered into the contest. Each park will choose six winners, and each winner will get to invite 100 guests to a closed-to-the-public Dream Nite party to be held in September 2007. Partygoers will have exclusive access to the parks' major rides, get to dine with the Looney Tunes characters, ride in a parade, and end the night with their own fireworks display. 2007 season pass prices vary by park; for example, Six Flags Great America in Illinois charges $79.99, while it's $69.99 at Six Flags New England in Massachusetts and $59.99 at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California. The 2006 season is winding down as Six Flags present its nightmarish Fright Fest events through the end of October. Most of the 2007 season passes include admission to this year's Fright Fest events. Complete details about the Dream Nite contest are available online, including info about how to enter without purchasing season passes.
