School Reunion

A class reunion is a meeting of former classmates, typically organized at or near their former school by one of the class on or around an anniversary of their graduation. Former teachers may be invited as well. Usually, participants nostalgically reminisce about their old school days, fondly remember their school pranks, and bring each other up to date on what has happened to each of them since they went their separate ways.

How to Decorate for a Class Reunion

Nothing is off-limits when planning your reunion decorations - consider everything from your classmates' personalities to your prom theme to current events from your school years. The "number" of your class reunion (10, 15, 20, 30) is also a key factor.

Steps

1. Think about what the people, area and school were like when you graduated, and use this information to develop a theme. Consider the venue for the reunion and what would be appropriate.

2. Ask each classmate to send in a current photo so you can put together a board with "then and now" pictures of the attendees.

3. Decorate with balloons in the school colors.

4. Have the school mascot visit the reunion. Alternatively, display uniforms of the major sports teams of the time ' and any trophies won during the four years of school. Add a cheerleader uniform, graduation cap and school banner.

5. Assemble school newspaper clippings and photographs in a huge collage. Attendees will have a great time trying to find themselves and friends in the collage.

6. Put together a memory book and display copies of all the yearbooks from your high school years.

7. Remember to buy or make name tags. You don't want your classmates stammering to remember names from the past.

Tips & Warnings

Try not to duplicate decorations from the previous reunion. Keep it fresh.

Bouquets of flowers are always appropriate decorations.
